Role of the HMI Software in the SCADA

Human Machine Interface (HMI Software) make it possible to interact with devices such as pumps, sensors, valves, motors and other. The structural design of the SCADA system starts with microprocessors such as Remote Terminal Unit (RTU) and Programmable Logic Controller (PLC). They communicate with the devices and the HMI. The data is conducted from the microprocessors to the SCADA computer.

Example: Description of the SCADA system

  • The vacuum swarf system is used to transport and process the aluminium swarf which is discharged by the conveyors of 3 machines (type Starrag Ecospeed-F).
  • The swarf transport is done with 3 vacuum stations installed underneath the discharge conveyor of each machine in the production area.
  • A conveyor system transports the briquettes to the skips located outside. A swivel chute mounted above the skips distributes the briquettes being discharged in the 2 skips.
  • They are connected to overhead suction pipework mounted in the production area.
    A high vacuum suction unit in the swarf room is connected to the end of this pipework.
